Message	No ... to a point that is.... for a point/shoot all you really need is 1. tripod (unless your point/shoot allows RAW ... which I'm sure isn't many) 2. camera must have the ability to change exposure ... you'll need at the very minimum 3 different exposures. 3. photoshop I have 2 point/shoots that can be used in manual mode so I know its possible, one is old ... other is fairly new. So in short ... nope you don't need a DSLR for this .. just a little more patience.
